ABOUT US The Central Queensland Rugby Union Ltd has provided the community of Central Queensland with Rugby Competitions since 1969. We have close to 20 senior and junior clubs (11 senior clubs) spread across our region. Clubs are based in Rockhampton, Moura, Biloela, Blackwater, Mt Morgan, Gladstone and the Capricorn Coast.
In 2011 our total player participation rates grew by 40% to more than 7,000 participants which includes club rugby, schools competitions and school visitation programs. Our senior numbers have also grown steadily in recent years and we now have around 700 Senior registered club players. At junior level we have Schools and Club competitions for both Teenage and Primary school aged players and once again in 2011, Central Queensland experienced some of the largest participation growth rates in Australia for rugby union. Rugby Headquarters is Rugby Park, located at Normanby St, The Range where the local competitions are based and is the home of the our representative side The Thrifty Brahmans.
The Senior Competition is played on Friday Nights and Saturday's throughout winter, with the junior club competition played on Friday nights and Saturdays from late September to November.
